Malawian bioenergy consumption is set to reach around 73 million metric tons by 2026. This year, the country is ranked 52nd, with 65.63 million metric tons, overtaken by New Zealand. India, Brazil and the United States remain in the top three. Since 1975, demand for bioenergy in Malawi has grown at an average of 3.7% year on year. This rate is expected to increase to 1.9% annually for the next five years.
