Rwanda's bioenergy consumption is set to increase to 38.5 million metric tons by 2026. In 2021, the country was in 85th place with 35 million metric tons, barely surpassing Laos. India, Brazil and the United States followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Since 1975, Rwandan demand has increased by an average of 3.5% year-on-year.
