Turkmen bioenergy consumption is projected to reach 52 million metric tons by 2026. This is a 1.1% year-on-year increase since 1997. The country has climbed up the rankings and is now the 65th largest bioenergy consumer in 2021, with Belgium overtaking it with 49 million metric tons. India, Brazil and the United States take the top three spots in the rankings.
