Bioenergy consumption in Algeria is set to rise over the next five years. In 2021, the country consumed 101.53 million metric tons of bioenergy, putting it in 39th place globally. This was slightly behind Uganda, which was 38th with a consumption of 111.05 million metric tons. India, Brazil and the United States were the largest consumers in 2021, with India ranking second, Brazil third and the United States fourth. Since 1975, Algeria's bioenergy consumption has increased by an average of 3.3% year on year. By 2026, it is expected to reach 111.05 million metric tons, a rise of 1.6% annually.
