In 2023, Bulgaria ranked 19th in the world for bioenergy consumption. The Czech Republic slightly edged ahead with a similar consumption level of 23 million metric tons. Leading the global rankings in bioenergy consumption for 2023 were France, the United Kingdom, and Poland, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions respectively.
