In 2023, Latvia ranked 28th globally in bioenergy consumption. Notably, Estonia surpassed Latvia with its bioenergy consumption also standing at around 5.8 million metric tons. The leading countries in this sector include France, the United Kingdom, and Poland, which hold the second, third, and fourth spots respectively.
