This represents an average annual growth rate of 0.3%. Since 2005, Lithuania has seen a steady increase in bioenergy demand, averaging a 1.7% year-on-year rise. In the 2023 rankings, Lithuania secured the 23rd position globally for bioenergy consumption. Switzerland edged out Lithuania with a consumption of about 17.8 million metric tons. Leading the rankings were France, the United Kingdom, and Poland, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions respectively.
