Despite this trend, Romania secured the seventh position in global bioenergy consumption rankings for 2023. Italy surpassed Romania in the rankings, with its consumption also hitting 80 million metric tons. France, the United Kingdom, and Poland occupied the second, third, and fourth positions respectively in the same ranking.
