Indonesia is set to become the fifth largest consumer of bioenergy by 2026. The country's consumption of bioenergy is estimated to reach 1.08 billion metric tons by that time, up 1.5% annually since 1975. In 2021, the U.S. led the way with 992.05 million metric tons, followed by India, Brazil and the U.S. in that order.
