Malaysia is set to become the 11th largest consumer of bioenergy by 2026. According to statistics, its demand has grown 2.9% per year since 1975. Currently, India, Brazil and the United States rank as the top three consumers, respectively. Malaysia is in 11th place, with 330.28 million metric tons of bioenergy consumed in 2021. This is expected to reach 356 million metric tons in 2026, an increase of 1.5% per year.
