Laos is set to consume 40.56 million metric tons of bioenergy by 2026, according to a recent report. This represents a year-on-year growth of 2.3%. Since 1975, Laos’ demand for bioenergy has grown by an average of 4.2% per year. In 2021, the country came in at number 83 in the global bioenergy rankings, behind Uruguay, with 35.78 million metric tons. India, Brazil and the United States were the top three countries respectively.
