Thailand is set to become the ninth-largest bioenergy consumer by 2026, according to recent forecasts. In 2021, the nation consumed 438 million metric tons of bioenergy, and this figure is expected to reach 475 million metric tons by 2026. That's an average annual growth rate of 1.6%. Since 1975, Thai demand for bioenergy has grown at a rate of 3.1% each year. Nigeria has overtaken Thailand as the largest consumer, with 438 million metric tons in 2021, followed by India, Brazil and the United States.
