Chile’s copper export is projected to drop 1.4% annually to $14.3 billion by 2026. The country’s export of the metal was $15.5 billion in 2021 and has been increasing since 1995. Germany, the United States and Japan were the second, third and fourth biggest exporters, respectively. Chile’s copper import is expected to grow 2.5% annually to reach $143.6 million by 2026. The country imported $124 million worth of copper in 2021, and the demand has risen 7.5% year on year since 1995. Chile ranked 61st in terms of copper imports in 2021, with Lithuania overtaking it with $124 million. Germany, the United States and Italy were the second, third and fourth biggest importers, respectively.
