Italian copper exports are on the rise. According to forecasts, they are set to reach nearly $5 billion by 2026, up from $4.3 billion in 2021. This represents an annual growth rate of 1.2%. Since 1999, Italian copper exports have increased by 5.6% each year. In 2021, Italy was the ninth largest exporter, with South Korea overtaking it with exports of $4.3 billion. Germany, the United States and Japan ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, imports of copper into Italy are also set to increase. Forecasts predict that they will reach $7.7 billion by 2026, up from $7.3 billion in 2021. This is an annual growth rate of 0.7%. Since 1999, Italian copper imports have jumped by 5.5% each year. In 2021, the United States was the top importer, with $7.3 billion. Germany, the United States and Italy followed, in that order.
