In 2021, Peru was ranked 77th, overtaken by Nicaragua. Germany, the United States, and Italy followed as the second, third and fourth biggest importers respectively. Exports of Peruvian copper are expected to remain flat at $2.2 billion over the same period. Since 1997, supply has risen at a rate of 5.3% year-on-year. Peru ranked 22nd in 2021, overtaken by Thailand. Germany, the United States, and Japan were ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.
