Zambia's copper exports are set to reach a record $8.3 billion by 2026, according to a new report. This is a 2.1% increase compared to 2021's figures of $7.3 billion. Since 2000, Zambian copper production has grown 5.2% year-on-year. In 2021, Zambia was the world's sixth-largest exporter of copper, behind China, Germany, the United States, and Japan. Meanwhile, Zambia's copper imports decreased by 45.9% in 2021, falling to $4.0 billion from $7.4 billion the previous year. Since 2000, annual demand has decreased by 40.4%. Zambia was the world's 110th-largest importer of copper in 2021, with Cameroon ranking higher at $4.0 billion. Germany, the United States, and Italy were the second, third, and fourth-largest importers respectively.
