Russia is set to become the world's largest copper exporter by 2026, with exports expected to reach $5.99 billion. This marks an increase of 1.6% year on year on average since 2001, when exports were 10.5% higher than the year before. In 2021, Russia was the seventh largest exporter in the world, behind Zambia. Germany, the United States and Japan were the next-largest exporters respectively. Russia is also expected to become the 32nd largest copper importer by 2026. Imports are projected to reach $966 million, representing a 2.2% year on year CAGR since 2001. In 2021, Romania overtook Russia, which was the 32nd largest importer. Germany, the United States and Italy were the next-largest importers respectively.
