Indonesian copper exports are expected to reach $2.1 billion by 2026, an increase of 0.5% annually from the current level of $2 billion. This growth is slightly higher than the 4.4% average year-on-year growth since 1994. In 2021, Indonesia was the 23rd largest copper exporter, behind Peru with exports of $2 billion. Germany, the United States and Japan were the top three exporters respectively. Indonesian copper imports are projected to reach $1.8 billion by 2026, an average annual growth rate of 2.3% from the current level of $1.6 billion. This follows an average year-on-year growth of 7% since 1994. In 2021, Indonesia was the 21st largest copper importer, behind Austria with imports of $1.6 billion. Germany, the United States and Italy were the top three importers respectively.
