Swedish coking coal imports are expected to decrease by 1.6% annually until 2026, according to figures from 2021. Sweden imported 1,210 thousand metric tons of coking coal in 2021, making it the 12th biggest importer of the commodity. Italy was the largest importer with 1,270 thousand metric tons. Germany, the Netherlands and France followed, ranking 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Since 1995, Sweden’s coking coal import has decreased by an average of 9.1% year on year.
