Belgium's coking coal exports have dropped to virtually zero in 2020, down 100% from 1,100 metric tons in 2019. Imports of coking coal into Belgium are expected to hit 1,010 metric tons by 2026, from 1,380 metric tons in 2021. This would represent a 5.5% year-on-year decrease, which is slightly lower than the average yearly decline since 1995, at 1.4%. Belgium was the 10th largest importer of coking coal in 2021, coming in after Austria, which imported 1,380 metric tons that year. Germany, the Netherlands, and France were the second, third, and fourth largest importers respectively.
