Czech coking coal exports have been decreasing since 2020, dropping by over 31 percent to around 334 thousand metric tons in 2021. This is a decrease of over 30 percent since 1995. At the same time, Czech imports of coking coal have been on the rise since 1996, increasing by an average of 5.5 percent per year. In 2021, Czech imports of the commodity amounted to nearly 2.6 million metric tons, making the country the fifth largest importer. Germany, the Netherlands and France came in at second, third and fourth respectively.
