Japan overtook Italy in 2021, with exports totalling $2.8 billion. Germany, the United States and France placed second, third and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, Italian glass imports are predicted to reach $2.2 billion by 2026, growing 0.7% year-on-year from $2.1 billion in 2021. Italian demand for glass has increased 2.5% annually since 1999. In 2021, South Korea overtook Italy, with imports amounting to $2.1 billion. China, Germany and France occupied the second, third and fourth spots respectively.
