This represents an average annual growth rate of 10.4%. Since 2019, the Austrian EV market has demonstrated robust growth, with year-on-year increases averaging 45.7%. Despite this rapid expansion, Austria ranked 12th in EV registrations in 2023, trailing behind Switzerland, which also reported around 59,000 units. In the broader European context, Sweden, Italy, and the Netherlands secured the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, in the ranking of EV registrations.
