Peruvian demand for eggs is set to increase in the next five years. In 2021, it hit 340 thousand metric tons, up 0.8% on average since 2017. That made Peru the 29th-largest egg consumer in the world, behind Iraq’s 340 thousand metric tons. The US, India and Japan followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively. By 2026, Peru's egg consumption is forecast to reach 367 thousand metric tons, a 1.3% increase year on year on average.
