Irish egg consumption is set to fall slightly by 2026. In 2021, the country consumed an estimated 40,000 metric tons, ranking 87th in the world. This was behind Uruguay, which consumed 40,000 metric tons. The United States, India, and Japan ranked higher, at 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively. Since 2017, Irish demand for eggs has grown by 0.9% annually on average. However, by 2026, it is expected to drop to 39,000 metric tons.
