Romanian egg consumption is projected to drop by 1.1% year on year, decreasing from 245,000 metric tons in 2021 to 229,000 metric tons in 2026. Since 2017, demand has been declining by a modest 0.5% on an annual basis. In 2021, Romania ranked 38th in egg consumption, behind Guatemala, who came in at 245,000 metric tons. The United States, India and Japan came in 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
