Mozambique's livestock production is expected to climb to around 2.1 million heads by 2026, up from nearly 2 million in 2021. This increase of 0.9% year-on-year is slightly higher than the 1.5% average growth rate since 1966. In 2021, Mozambique ranked 94th in the world, behind Ivory Coast with 1.9 million heads. Brazil, India and the United States were the top three, respectively. Mozambique's livestock imports are also set to rise to around $4.2 million by 2026, up from $4.1 million in 2021. This increase of 0.6% year-on-year is much higher than the 6.4% average growth rate since 2005. In 2021, Mozambique was 103rd in the world, behind Senegal with $4.1 million. Germany, Italy and the Netherlands ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
