Australia's livestock production is forecast to drop by almost 3 million heads over the next five years, according to a new report. In 2021, the country was ranked 11th with 30.9 million heads, behind Chad with the same number. Brazil, India, and the United States all ranked higher, coming in at 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Since 1966, the supply of livestock in Australia has decreased on average by 0.2% each year. Meanwhile, Australian livestock imports are expected to rise to $161 million by 2026 from $144 million in 2021 and have grown 9.5% annually since 1993. The country was ranked 31st in 2021, with Palestine ahead at $144 million. Germany, Italy and the Netherlands ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
