Finnish livestock production is projected to drop by 0.8% year on year, reaching 1.1 million heads by 2026. This is a decrease of 1.8% since 1966. In 2021, the United Arab Emirates topped the list for the highest number of livestock with 1.2 million heads, followed by Brazil, India and the United States. Meanwhile, Finnish livestock imports are expected to increase by 0.5% year on year, reaching $8 million by 2026. This is a rise of 3% since 1993. Estonia held the highest imports in 2021 at $7.8 million, followed by Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
