South Sudan is set to increase its livestock production over the next five years, according to a recent report. In 2021, the country had around 10 million heads of livestock, and that figure is expected to reach 10.4 million by 2026. The report also revealed a year-on-year growth rate of 0.6% since 2017. South Sudan ranked 36th in the global livestock production rankings in 2021, with Paraguay coming in at first place with 10 million heads. Brazil, India, and the United States followed in second, third, and fourth place, respectively.
