Meanwhile, British phosphate imports declined sharply in 2018, totalling $165,000 compared to $366,000 in 2017. This was a drop of 54.8% from the previous year. Since 1998, demand fell by 40.2%. In 2018, the UK was 59th in the global ranking, with Nigeria in first place at $165,000. The US, Indonesia and Lithuania were in second, third and fourth place respectively.
