Russia is set to become one of the world's leading importers and exporters of phosphate by 2026. In 2021, Russia imported $59 million worth of phosphate, placing it at number 14 in the world. This marks a 3.8% year-on-year growth since 2001. Pakistan was the leading importer with $47 million. The United States, Indonesia and Lithuania followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Russia is also set to become a major exporter of phosphate, with exports of $353 million forecast for 2026. This represents a 0.7% year-on-year average growth since 2001. Jordan was the leading exporter with $340 million in 2021, followed by Russia, Jordan and Peru.
