Korean imports of lithium are expected to hit a total of 48 million kilograms by 2026, up 3.7% from 39 million kilograms in 2021. Since 1993, demand has grown 14.2% year-on-year. China, Japan and the US were the top three importers in 2021. Exports of lithium from Korea are predicted to reach 2.8 million kilograms by 2026, up 4.2% from 2.2 million kilograms. Since 1995, supply has surged by 37.1% year-on-year. In 2021, Korea ranked sixth in terms of exports, behind Germany. Argentina, Belgium and China came in second, third and fourth, respectively.
