Mexican lithium imports soared 239.7% in 2018 to nearly 1,200 kilograms, up from 353 kilograms in 2017. The country had seen a 64.7% decrease in demand since 1995. In 2018, Mexico ranked 58th in the world for lithium imports, overtaken by Nepal, which imported 1,200 kilograms. China, Japan and the United States were the top three importers, respectively.
