Swiss lithium exports are set to increase by almost 4,300 kilograms over the next five years. The country exported 24,620 kilograms in 2021, up 5.1% from the year before. Russia overtook Switzerland to become the 20th largest exporter. Argentina, Belgium and China followed respectively in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. Meanwhile, Swiss demand for lithium has gone up by 7.2% each year since 1993. Argentina was the largest importer in 2019, with 79,800 kilograms. China, Japan and the United States followed respectively in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.
