New Zealand is set to see an increase in lithium export over the next five years. In 2021, the country exported 1,260 kilograms of lithium, up 4.4% from the previous year. This was a slight decrease from the 1998 figure, which was 0.9% lower. Hungary overtook New Zealand in 2021, exporting 1,260 kilograms. Argentina, Belgium, and China were the next three countries in the ranking. New Zealand is also set to see a decrease in lithium import over the next five years. In 2021, the country imported 2,820 kilograms of lithium, down 2.9% from the previous year. This is an 8.8% decrease from the 1994 figure. Ukraine overtook New Zealand in 2021, importing 2,820 kilograms. China, Japan, and the United States were the next three countries in the ranking.
