Norwegian imports of lithium are expected to reach 50,480 kilograms by 2026, up 0.8% from 2021's 48,270 kilograms. Since 1999, demand has decreased by 2.6% year-on-year. In 2021, Norway ranked 30th in the world, with Indonesia overtaking it at 48,270 kilograms. China, Japan and the United States took the second, third and fourth positions respectively in the ranking. Norwegian exports of lithium, however, are projected to fall 11.9% year-on-year to 567.59 kilograms by 2026, down from 1,180 kilograms in 2021. Since 2012, supply has dropped 8.9% annually. Norway was 35th in 2021, with the United Arab Emirates ahead at 1,180 kilograms. Argentina, Belgium and China took the second, third and fourth positions respectively in the ranking.
