Hungary's imports of lithium are set to rise to around 104,370 kilograms by 2026, a 2.8% annual increase since 2021 when it was 89,150 kilograms. Since 1997, imports have grown at an average of 4.4% a year. In 2021, Hungary ranked 23rd in terms of imports, with Switzerland leading the way at 89,150 kilograms. China, Japan, and the United States came in second, third, and fourth, respectively. Exports of lithium rose dramatically in 2018, with 1,220 kilograms being shipped out compared to just 37 kilograms the year before. This represented an increase of 3,210%. That year, Hungary came in 34th place, with Norway leading the way at 1,220 kilograms. Argentina, Belgium, and China took the following spots.
