Macedonian imports of lithium dropped sharply in 2018. They imported just 1 kilogram, compared to 2.17 kilograms in 2017 – a decrease of more than half. Since 2001, the country’s demand for lithium has fallen by 34%. Ghana overtook Macedonia, becoming the 88th largest importer of lithium in 2018, importing 1 kilogram. China, Japan and the United States were the world’s top three largest importers, respectively.
