Nepal is set to import around 980 kilograms of lithium by 2026. This is a decrease of more than 7% each year from 2021's 1,550 kilograms. Since 2014, demand for lithium in Nepal has dropped by almost 25%. In 2021, Nepal was 56th on the list of top lithium importing countries - with New Caledonia in the lead. China, Japan, and the United States were the next three in the ranking, respectively.
