In 2018, Israel imported close to 17,270 kilograms of lithium, a 63.8% increase from the 10,550 kilograms imported in 2017. Since 2005, demand for lithium in Israel has been rising steadily at an average rate of 2.2% per year. The Czech Republic topped the 2018 lithium import rankings with 6,160 kilograms, followed by Argentina, Belgium, and China in second, third, and fourth place, respectively. Pakistan ranked 38th with 17,270 kilograms, while China, Japan, and the United States came in second, third, and fourth, respectively.
