Indonesia is on track to become the fifteenth-largest producer of alumina in the world by 2026. This is according to a report which states that the country's production is expected to reach 1.5 million metric tons. This is up 4.5% annually from 1.1 million metric tons in 2021. The United States currently leads the way in alumina production, standing at 1.1 million metric tons in 2021. Australia, Brazil, and India follow in second, third, and fourth place respectively.
