Malagasy exports of graphite are expected to reach $16.2 million by 2026, up 3.4% a year on average since 2021 when they totalled $13.2 million. This marks a 12.3% rise since 1995. In 2021, Canada overtook Madagascar to become the top exporter, while Brazil, Germany and the United States ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, Malagasy imports of graphite are forecast to reach $10.8 million by 2026, a rise of 0.9% year-on-year since 2021 when they totalled $10.2 million. This is a 2.7% decrease since 2001. Armenia overtook Madagascar to become the 94th highest importer in 2021, while South Korea, the United States and Germany ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
