Korea is one of the world's leading importers of limestone, and demand is expected to increase further in the next five years. The country imported 2,359,900,000 kilograms of limestone in 2021, a 2.2% increase from the previous year. Since 1993, Korean demand for the mineral has grown by an average of 3% year-on-year. In 2021, Korean limestone exports stood at 3,270,300 kilograms, a 2.9% drop from the year before. Since 1994, the country's supply has increased by an average of 2.8% each year. The Netherlands overtook Korea in 2021, exporting 3,886,000 kilograms of limestone. India, Oman and Malaysia followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
