The Netherlands is set to hit 1.1 billion kilograms in limestone imports by 2026. The country has recorded an average annual growth of 1.4% since 2021, up from 1 billion kilograms. Since 1997, Dutch demand for limestone has risen 3.8% year on year. In 2018, Dutch limestone exports dropped to 5.2 million kilograms from 6.5 million kilograms the previous year, a decline of 18.7% compared to the year before. Over the past 23 years, Dutch supply of limestone decreased by 40.2% year on year. In 2018, Japan was the top importer of limestone from the Netherlands, with 5.2 million kilograms. India, Oman and Malaysia followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
