Sales of Hungarian limestone are expected to reach nearly 3.7 billion kilograms by 2026, a 2.4% increase from 2021. Since 2011, Hungarian market demand has risen 5.6% year on year. Hungary was in ninth place in 2021, with Romania overtaking it at 3.1 billion kilograms. Germany, France and Spain were respectively in second, third and fourth place. Hungarian limestone imports are expected to hit 9 million kilograms by 2026, a 4.3% increase from 2021. Since 2000, Hungarian demand has decreased 4.7% year on year. Exports of Hungarian limestone increased 8.2% in 2018 to 143,540 kilograms, from 132,650 kilograms the previous year. Since 1997, Hungarian supply has decreased by 44.8% year on year. Hungary was in 50th place in 2018, with Bulgaria overtaking it at 143,540 kilograms. India, Oman and Malaysia were respectively in second, third and fourth place.
