Exports of Chilean quartz are expected to reach nearly 47,000 kilograms in 2026, up from 40,000 kilograms in 2021 – an increase of 2.7% year-on-year on average. Since 1996, supply has grown by almost 30%. In 2021, Chile ranked 50th for quartz exports, overtaken by Ireland with 40,000 kilograms. China, Spain and Norway took the top three spots in the ranking. Meanwhile, imports of Chilean quartz are projected to decrease to 733,000 kilograms in 2026 from 836,000 kilograms in 2021, a fall of 2.2% year-on-year. Since 1996, demand has dropped by almost 7%. The country was 53rd in 2021, overtaken by Hungary with 836,000 kilograms. China, Norway and France occupied the top three positions in the ranking.
