In 2021, Germany ranked 8th in the world for imports, with 116.7 million kilos, just behind the US. China, Norway and France were the next three largest importers. Exports of German Quartz also grew in 2018, with 8.9 million kilos compared to 8.6 million kilos in 2017, a 2.6% increase. Looking at the wider picture, exports have decreased by 21.1% since 1996. In 2018, Germany ranked 17th in the world, with Singapore just ahead at 8.9 million kilos. China, Spain and Norway were the next three largest exporters.
