In 2018, Kyrgyzstan imported nearly 250 kilograms of quartz, a 95 percent drop from the 5,000 kilograms imported in 2017. Since 2007, demand for quartz in the country has decreased by more than 80 percent. Kyrgyzstan ranked 119th in the world in quartz imports in 2018, with Sao Tome and Principe coming in ahead at 246 kilograms. China, Norway and France took the second, third and fourth spots in the ranking.
