Luxembourg's quartz imports fell by a staggering 70.1% in 2021, reaching 655,150 kilograms from 2,194,100 kilograms the previous year. Since 2004, demand has dropped by more than half, ranking the country 58th. South Africa overtook Luxembourg with 655,150 kilograms. China, Norway and France followed, respectively coming in at numbers 2, 3 and 4. In 2018, Luxembourg's quartz exports skyrocketed 3,220%, reaching 1,979,500 kilograms from 59,600 kilograms the year before. Since 2004, supply has increased by 33.5% year on year, ranking the country 26th. The Netherlands overtook Luxembourg at 1,979,500 kilograms. China, Spain and Norway followed, respectively coming in at numbers 2, 3 and 4.
